Hi all! After the resounding support we received on Facebook we’re delighted to confirm the details of the photography workshops we will be running over the next few months. We’ll be holding workshops that will suit the absolute beginner through to the enthusiast, and we will be running them based upon interest in the different levels.
Each course costs $90 and is of one day’s duration. They will all involve a theory and a practical component, including a live shoot.
Intoduction to your camera – Sunday 23rd June (Fully Booked) Sunday 30th June (Places Available)
We’ll be starting with “Introduction to your Camera” on Sunday 23rd and 30th June. This course is for people who’ve purchased a DSLR and want to understand how to use it to take better photos. In the morning we’ll be covering off on the basics of how to use your camera, and in the afternoon we’ll be taking what we’ve learned and putting it into practice. You will learn the ins and outs of your camera and all of the different modes on it, when to use the modes, and more. We’ll finish with a photo shoot where you will learn about composition and the best settings to get wonderful portraits. You will be amazed at what you can achieve once you learn a little more about your camera!
Taking the next step – Sunday 7th July (Fully Booked) Sunday 14th July (Places Available)
When you are comfortable with your camera and know how to use the different modes and when they should be used it’s time to take the next step. In this course we really delve into light, and how your camera uses light. We will be stepping away from the auto modes on your camera, and learning how to use manual mode to achieve your artistic vision. We’ll be covering metering in depth, and delving into creative flash photography. We’ll finish with a shoot that will really stretch your creativity and show you what you can achieve!
All course participants will have access to a facebook group where they will be able to share photos and receive ongoing feedback from Antony as well as other workshop attendees. This way your learning experience will extend past your workshop, giving you the ability to really make the most of your camera, and fully achieve your creative goals.
I’ve decided to limit workshop numbers to six per workshop to ensure you get the hands-on assistance and feedback you want. Bookings are going to be based on first in, best dressed but don’t worry – if there’s more demand I will be running extra workshops to ensure everyone can join in! To book in you need to email the studio using the contact form from the website, specifying which course (or both) that you want to attend. The contact form can be accessed by clicking the menu bar above this post! The first six entries for each course will get the available places, but if there’s lots of interest I will be running more!
I’m really excited about the opportunity to share some of my knowledge with workshop participants, and I’m looking forward to seeing the images that you will make when you can master all that your camera can do!
UPDATE – Additional Workshops Announced!
After our first courses booked out in a morning I’m happy to advise two new workshop dates! We’ll be having a second “Introduction to Your Camera” class on 30th June, and a second “Taking the Next Step” workshop on 14th June.
